Living with the Unseen

Living with the Unseen Living with the Unseen is a psychological and atmospheric short story that follows Loran, a night-shift nurse whose ordinary life fractures as she encounters unexplained presences in familiar spaces. As reality blurs and silence deepens, the story explores the invisible forces that exist around us—unnoticed, unnamed, and quietly powerful. This is not only Loran’s story, but a reflection of everyone who lives beside the unseen without ever realizing it. Loran lived her life by routines. Wake. Work. Return. Repeat. They grounded her, kept her thoughts orderly, and left little room for imagination. She had never believed in signs or superstitions. Life, to her, was practical—measured in heartbeats, charts, and quiet acts of care. As a practicing nurse working overnight shifts, Loran was accustomed to silence. Hospitals at night breathed differently. Hallways stretched longer, lights dimmed, and every sound—footsteps, distant machines, the rustle of papers—felt ampli...

Motherhood

Motherhood

“Motherhood” is a heartwarming story that spans generations—from a high school romance and unexpected pregnancy to adoption and legacy. It’s a gentle reminder that love, in its many forms, defines family more than blood ever could.

It was summer when Alicia went out for a swim. She took three or four laps across the pool, gliding through the water like it was second nature. When she finally paused to rest at the edge, someone suddenly shoved her from behind. She splashed back into the pool, startled and gasping.

Luckily, she knew how to swim. But that didn’t stop the anger bubbling up as she turned around to see who had pushed her. A group of teenagers were playing truth or dare nearby, laughing wildly. To her shock, it was Austin—her classmate—who had dared to push her in.

What started as an annoying prank eventually turned into friendship. Alicia and Austin went to the same high school, and their bond grew stronger each day. But drama wasn’t far behind. Emma, a friend of Alicia’s, had long harbored a crush on Austin. When she found out Austin liked Alicia instead, Emma was devastated.

Things got worse when a hurtful note written by Austin was accidentally passed around: “Emma is short and ugly—who would go out with her?” The words broke Emma. Determined to change, she started straightening her hair, wearing makeup, and reinventing herself. Suddenly, everyone began to notice her. Boys asked for her number, and she started to feel beautiful—finally.

But even with all the attention, Emma couldn’t break the bond between Alicia and Austin. The two remained the most admired couple in the yearbook.

A few years later, Alicia, now a senior, discovered she was pregnant—with a baby boy. Austin gave her a ring, and she was overjoyed. After graduation, they moved to different states but stayed together, embracing their journey into parenthood.

They both became teachers—Alicia at a local school, Austin at a college. Their son, Tim, grew up to be tall like his father and brilliant like his mother. He was an honor roll student throughout school.

Tim fell in love with a kind-hearted girl named Michelle. Their relationship blossomed, and eventually, they proposed to each other and moved into a new home.

Tim had always dreamed of having a daughter of his own. But Michelle couldn’t have children and deeply wished to adopt. Torn between his dream and his love, Tim faced a choice. He didn’t want to lose Michelle, the woman who made him feel whole. With a big heart and quiet strength, he let go of his own expectations and embraced hers. His decision brought Michelle even more happiness—and in time, their adopted daughter, Lauren, became the light of both their lives.

Lauren, with her bright eyes and joyful spirit, brought new hope into the family every single day.

They traveled, celebrated, laughed, and loved—together.

Alicia often looked at Lauren and saw life’s beautiful cycle unfold. From being a young mother in school to now a grandmother watching her family grow—this was motherhood, in all its grace and wonder.

“Motherhood isn’t just about giving birth—it’s about giving love, making sacrifices, and watching new stories bloom from the seeds you once planted.”

She remembered the mocking laughter of her cousin and his friends as they bragged about using girls like stepping stones. Those memories shaped h...

Don’t Open That Door

“A mother and daughter move into a beautiful new home… but something upstairs doesn’t want them there.” When Kristan and her daughter moved to the Bridgetown neighborhood, they loved the house. It had seven rooms and was huge. Kristan’s daughter Bianca went upstairs to check out each room. The last room had a foul smell, something like a dead animal. The window was open, and it was extremely cold in the room. There was a desk, a rocking chair, and a standing mirror.  Kristan was making dinner and baking pumpkin pie in the kitchen when she called, “ Bianca, come downstairs to eat!” Kristan liked the three downstairs rooms and insisted Bianca pick her room from these rooms. “But Mom, I like the upstairs room. Can we move there, please?”  Bianca asked. Kristan replied, “Bianca, honey… alright, let’s make a deal.”  During the day, we spend time upstairs, and to sleep, we go downstairs. Okay, Mom, it's a deal!” Bianca would start school on Monday, and Kristan was beginning h...
