“Did I Not Climb Up The Stairs?”

“Did I Not Climb Up The Stairs?”   After a sudden injury leaves her unable to walk, Beth finds herself trapped downstairs in her own home—alone, in pain, and cut off from the outside world. As time stretches and fear quietly builds, even the simplest task—climbing the stairs—turns into a test of strength, endurance, and willpower. Beth had always been fast. On the soccer field, she moved like the wind—light, confident, unstoppable. Running wasn’t something she thought about. It was just something her body knew how to do. Until the day it didn’t. It happened in a second. One wrong step, one sharp twist, and suddenly she was on the ground, clutching her ankle as pain shot through her leg. The game continued around her, voices blurred, but all she could feel was that burning, pulsing pain. By the time she made it home, she could barely walk. Her room was upstairs. That simple fact now felt like a wall she couldn’t climb. Beth stood at the bottom of the staircase, staring...

The Vacant Room

The Vacant Room

Intro:

Some doors are better left unopened. In this psychological horror short, a girl named Lisa vanishes inside her own home — only to return changed. What happens in the vacant room stays with her… and maybe with you too.

When night falls, the house is swallowed by darkness. Lisa, home alone, walks through the quiet halls of the big, echoing home. Every second, the house seems to whisper — floorboards creak, the lights flicker, and the door to the old west wing bangs open and shut on its own.

Curiosity outweighs her fear.

Lisa walks to the mysterious door. She opens it… and then suddenly, the house shifts.

She’s locked inside.

The room is cold and bare, its air thick and wrong. A black cat slinks out of the shadows, meowing sharply, its eyes fixed on her like it knows something. Lisa backs into the corner of the vacant room, trembling, unsure of how she got in… or how to get out.

She stays there all night, sweating, shivering, waiting for daylight. But morning brings no rescue — only silence. She screams. She cries. No one hears.

Days pass.

Her family begins searching, calling her name through the halls. But the room remains closed. Unreachable.

Until, one afternoon, the door creaks open.

And Lisa walks out.

Except… it’s not quite Lisa.

Her face is pale, her hair grayer than before. Her eyes, once curious and warm, are now sunken and hollow. She doesn’t speak — just stares. And when she looks into the mirror, she gasps.

Because staring back is not her own reflection.

It’s the face of an old woman.

A name flickers through her mind. Martha.

Years ago, an elderly woman named Martha had died in that very room — alone, forgotten, bitter. Neighbors had whispered about her obsession with the occult. Some said she tried to preserve her soul in the room before she passed.

Now, Martha is back.

In Lisa’s body.

And the signs come quickly:

At night, she walks silently along the walls and ceiling like a spider.

Her laughter echoes even when no one is near.

She hums lullabies no one has heard in decades.

Objects move when she enters the room — as if afraid of her.

The family, once relieved to have Lisa home, now fears her presence.

The vacant room is no longer empty.

It lives in her now.

And Martha… has never left.
